About CEDA
What is CEDA?
CEDA is a newly formed private sector Local Development Corporation (LDC). The purpose of CEDA is to provide a single coordinated focus for economic development within Cayuga County linked to broader efforts in our region. A full-time economic developer will provide direction and vision for strategic, targeted and sustainable economic growth.
Why is CEDA important to Cayuga County and our region?
Economic growth and sustainability does not happen by accident. Central New York has great possibility. CEDA can provide numerous opportunities for new start up businesses and the ability to provide supports to businesses that already exist. A full-time coordinated effort will provide a sense of urgency and energy for moving Cayuga County toward a higher level of economic global competitiveness.
What is the next step for CEDA?
CEDA has obtained funding for three years from the Cayuga County Legislature and Cayuga County Industrial Development Authority. An Executive Director has been hired. The next step is to begin the development of a strategic plan for short and long term economic growth and sustainability. A professional consultant will be hired to assist with the development of this strategic plan. CEDA is actively seeking funding from businesses, agencies, foundations and private donors to support this community endeavor.
The Executive Director and members of the CEDA Board thank you for learning more about our mission and invite you to join us in creating a vibrant and sustained economic future for Auburn, Cayuga County and our CNY region.
